Shop Name: Metro Retro
Circa: 1940s
Description: The look of Ingrid Bergman in ''Casablanca'' is captured in this 40's chapeau. The crown and brim are wrapped in a leather trim that has two 1 1/4'' leather strips fanning from it in the back. Attached to the front trim are two separate leather strips that create an unusual bow. Each strip is rolled on one side, and then meets in the middle to create the center of the bow design. The other ends of the leather strips are kept loose to finish the look off. The crown has three seams running down it to give the design definition. The center seam has a deeper crease and is longer than the other two. Placed inside either side of the hat is an elastic string that was to place under the hair. You will also find a navy grosgrain ribbon that has some discoloring only at the front section of it. The material is a very soft wool. This hat is a true navy but photos have been lighten to show the subtle details.
Measurements:  The circumference on the inside is 20'' and 23'' on the outside. The brim width is 2 1/2' in the front, 3'' on the sides and 2' in the back. The crown is 3''.
