Inquire About This Item
Shop Name: Orlando Vintage
Circa: 1980s
Designer: Judith Leiber
Description: Though Judith Leiber is most famous for her jewel encrusted minaudieres, this is from a collection of a more practical craft. Leiber also worked with exotic skins, like with this gorgeous clutch. The skin is cinched toward the top, accented by silver and gold metal squares that form two rows. There is a striking balance between the soft, curvy skin and the solid form of the metal squares. The bag opens with special engineering by pulling a tab on one side of the frame. The sound of a Leiber bag closing has been described ''like closing the door on an excellent automobile''. Once opened, in view is cream grosgrain interior (with miniscule lipstick stains), a zip pocket on one side and a mirror pocket on the other. The Judith Leiber signature is on a gold metal tab and the frame. A hideaway strap is also featured on two swinging gold pieces, easily tucking away when not in use. There are reddish lipstick stains in the stitching on a small section of the strap.
Measurements:  Bag: 9.5'' x 1.25'' x 7.25'', Strap: 40'' long
